World’s Fastest Lawn Mower
The Guinness Book of World Records has officially announced the Honda Mean Mower as the fastest lawn mower in the world. Finally, a reason to never complain about your yard size again! (Even though we’re pretty sure this things would turn your lawn brown faster than you’ll cut it) Either way you shake it, this Mower-Race Car hybrid is something to see.
Honda’s U.K. division teamed with its British Touring Car Championship partner Team Dynamics and used a Honda HF2620 Lawn Tractor with a custom-fab chassis and a 1000cc engine from a Honda VTR Firestorm motorcycle. The team took the suspension and wheels from an ATV to take the additional impact. To make sure that the functionality of a standard mower was intact enough for it to still be considered a lawnmower, two electric motors were installed on the cutter deck allowing it to cut grass at up to 15 mph. The Mean Mower averaged 116.57 mph over two runs in opposite directions through a 100 meter speed trap,easily surpassing the previous lawn mower speed record of 87.83 mph.
